Mr. Michael Holliday is the owner of The Big Red Shed, a business specialising in the sourcing, milling and sale of quality aged timbers. Michael originally started a business called the Renovators' Warehouse in 1989 which was situated at 42 School Street, Kelvin Grove. At that time, the Renovators' Warehouse was Brisbane's biggest one-stop-shop restoration and timber shop.

Four years later, one of Michael's competitors, The Big Red Shed, situated at Milton, was forced to close down. Michael approached the auctioneers, and after some lengthy negotiations, bought the name The Big Red Shed, as well as all the stock.

Shortly thereafter, he dropped the name Renovators' Warehouse, with both businesses now trading as The Big Red Shed.

For more than 12 years now, The Big Red Shed has become an established, well-respected supplier to Brisbane's building industry.

Our aim is to reclaim as much of Australia's building heritage as we can from total destruction and return back to the community some of the fine timbers to be re-use in contemporary building projects.

We have the vision of adding value and beauty to materials that have since seen their original used-by date in old buildings, factories and other large structures, turning them back into useful, functional architectural products and furnishings.
